Your data stays on this computer. Activities and projects are saved only in this browser — nothing is sent to a server, and there's no account. That also means clearing the browser's data or changing computers loses it, so turn on automatic backup or download a backup now and then.

Notice when you step away? If a timer keeps running while you're away from the laptop (screen locked, or no keyboard or mouse for 5 minutes), the tracker asks what to do with that time. The browser asks for permission once.

Interruption kinds

Shown by the Interruption button. Time on them stays charged to the activity you were working on; they only show where that time went. Removing a kind keeps the time already recorded under it.

About your data

What is stored, and where

Your activities, projects and settings are saved only in this browser, on this computer.

What leaves this computer

Nothing of your data. The app has no account, no server database and no analytics — the server only delivers the app itself. Backups go to a folder or file you choose.

Keeping a copy

Data in the browser is gone if the browser's data is cleared or the computer is replaced. Turn on automatic backup (Chrome, Edge), or download a backup file now and then.

Another computer or browser

Each has its own, separate data. To move yours, download a backup file here and use Restore from backup file there.

Removing everything

Settings → Delete all data empties the app in this browser. Backup files on your computer are not touched.

Deletes from this browser and resets the settings (interruption kinds, automatic backup, away detection, theme). This can't be undone.

This browser can't save to a folder automatically. Use Chrome or Edge, or download a backup file below.

Saves ActivityTracker-backup.json after changes (at most every 5 minutes) and keeps one copy per day in the daily subfolder for 30 days. Tip: choose a folder inside OneDrive, so backups are also stored outside this computer.
